Veterinarian
Dr. Mackenzie Haines was born in Germany and bounced around the United States for many years due to her family’s military background before they finally planted roots in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She has always wanted to be a veterinarian due to her deep empathy towards animals and her drive to make a positive difference in the lives of pets and their families.
After practicing in the Nashville area for a few years, Dr. Haines joined the Blue Oasis Pet Hospital team in 2023. She loves being a part of the BOPH team as she can practice quality patient care in a Fear-Free setting, which betters the lives of pets, their families, and veterinary team members. Dr. Haines earned her B.S. in Biology from Western Kentucky University in 2016, and went on to attend Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2020. During veterinary school, she developed special interests in dermatology, internal medicine, and preventative care. She became Fear-Free certified during veterinary school in 2019.
Additionally, she completed courses in small animal acupuncture from Chi University to become a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) in 2023. She has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) since 2019, and a member of the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) since 2023.
Dr. Haines moved to Nashville after graduating from veterinary school, and currently lives with her fiancé Kody, their two dogs Bastion and Winnie, and their cat Harlowe. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, and trying new restaurants around Nashville with her friends and Kody.
