After completing her high school education, Laura pursued her passion for animals by enrolling at The University of Tennessee at Martin. In 2014, she proudly graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, specializing in Veterinary Medicine. Her academic prowess and dedication to her studies were evident throughout her time at university, laying a strong foundation for her future career. In 2014, Laura achieved the significant milestone of becoming a Licensed Veterinary Medical Technologist (LVMT), a testament to her expertise and commitment to the highest standards of care. Her tireless efforts and dedication did not go unnoticed, as she was awarded the prestigious Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) Vet Tech of The Year award in 2016, a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field.

On October 16, 2023, Laura took a pivotal step in her career by joining Blue Oasis Pet Hospital, a practice known for its unwavering commitment to providing top-notch care and compassion. Drawn to the practice by the visionary leadership of Dr. Lucas and the emphasis on creating a fear-free environment, Laura found a professional home that resonated with her own values and aspirations. Laura's pursuit of excellence extends beyond her role in Veterinary Medicine. In 2023, she is set to graduate with a Master's of Business Administration, specializing in Human Resources, adding another dimension to her skill set. This endeavor reflects her dedication to not only the well-being of animals but also the professional development and nurturing of her colleagues.

Beyond her professional achievements, Laura has created a haven for animals on her small farm, which boasts a menagerie of four dogs, four cats, fourteen chickens, five turkeys, and two mini pigs. She enjoys trail riding, hiking, traveling, family and friend gatherings, and DIY home projects.
